Within the next few days, tennis ace Boris Becker, 33, and his wife of seven years, Barbara Feltus Becker, 33, are expected to reach an out-of-court settlement in their highly publicized divorce and child custody dispute, their attorneys announced yesterday. The battle has been fought on two fronts: in the athlete's native Germany and in Miami, where the couple has a $3 million home on exclusive Fisher Island. Yesterday, a Miami judge agreed to postpone a scheduled hearing that was to decide whether or not the case should be tried in Florida. (Boris contended that the divorce should take place in Germany, where the couple was married and where their two sons, Noah, who turns 7 this week, and Elias, 16 months, were born.) Barbara Becker, a former model and actress, is the daughter of a former U.S. Army medical corps officer. "Barbara and Boris have been together and are working together very respectfully and responsibly," her attorney, Sam Burstyn, told reporters outside the Miami-Dade County courthouse. "We're very, very close to resolving this matter."
