The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation has announced the nominees for its 12th annual GLAAD Media Awards, which the group will present during four ceremonies: in New York on April 16, Los Angeles on April 28, Washington, D.C., on May 12 and San Francisco on June 9. Special honors will go to the CBS reality ratings sensation "Survivor," for featuring the openly gay corporate trainer Richard Hatch (who happened to take home the $1 million prize), and to "The West Wing," for, according to GLAAD, regularly addressing issues of gay and lesbian discrimination. The nominees for outstanding film in wide release are "Best in Show," "Billy Elliot," "The Next Best Thing" and "Wonder Boys." Limited-release nominees: "Aimee & Jaguar," "Before Night Falls," "The Broken Hearts Club" and "Urbania." For outstanding TV drama series: "Queer as Folk," "Undressed," "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "Dawson's Creek" and "Felicity." Comedy series nominees: "Will & Grace," "Beggars and Choosers," "Los Beltran" and "Popular."
