Calista Is a Mom

"Ally McBeal" star Calista Flockhart, 36, has adopted a baby boy, she said in a statement issued Thursday. "I have always wanted to adopt a child, and I am overjoyed that I have been blessed with a beautiful and healthy son," said Flockhart's statement. "I'm completely enchanted and awe-struck. I feel extremely fortunate and grateful that I work for such a supportive company that offers a wonderful child care facility, enabling me to spend a lot of time with my son while I'm working." The statement also went on to say that while Flockhart, who is single, "intends on keeping her new family life very private, she has revealed that she plans on giving birth someday and may adopt another child." No specifics about the natural mother of, the name of or the delivery of the boy were included in the statement.
