Eminem, Elton to Make Music
Talk about strange bedfellows: At the Grammys on Feb. 21, the anything-but-closeted Elton John is scheduled to sing, reportedly by mutual agreement, a duet with controversial rapper Eminem, whose lyrics have been labeled anti-gay. In an interview taped backstage at a concert last month (and due to be broadcast, in part, on iN DEMAND on pay-per-view come this Saturday), Eminem, 28, said: "I think that Elton John, I think he gets it. Because the kids . . . they are taking my music for what it's worth, you know what I mean? They're taking it with a . . . grain of salt." For his part, John, 53, is quoted by the Associated Press as saying about Eminem that he's a big fan, and that the rapper's lyrics, despite his calling gays "fags," are not hateful.
