Woof Woof in West Wing
The two Bush dogs have been reunited in the White House, say news reports -- after the two pooches built a reputation for not getting along together. "Barney's back," President George W. Bush reportedly exclaimed over the weekend as he welcomed First Puppy Barney, a small black Scots terrier, back into the family fold. Senior dog Spot, an English springer spaniel and the daughter of former President George and Barbara Bush's dog, Millie, then promptly sniffed Barney. Barney arrived last fall as part of a litter belonging to Environmental Protection Agency Chief Christine Todd Whitman. As Laura Bush's press secretary, Noelia Rodriguez, told reporters: "Barney isn't quite housebroken, and sleeps in a crate in a kitchen. Spot sleeps on a chair in the bedroom with the president and first lady." And a cat being a cat, Bush feline India simply stays upstairs in the White House -- and doesn't deign to hang out with the dogs.
