Janet Jackson 'Icon'-ized
Destiny's Child, Macy Gray and -- on video -- big brother Michael Jackson were among the dozen of celebrities and fans who celebrated Janet Jackson this weekend at the first-ever "mtvICON" gala, says the Hollywood Reporter. The festivities were held at the Sony Pictures Studio in Culver City, Calif., and traced Jackson's private life and career from her early days on TV's "Good Times," "Diff'rent Strokes" and "Fame" to her blockbuster recording career, including her upcoming "All for You" album. Among the speakers, Stevie Wonder recalled knowing Jackson when "she could barely talk, let alone sing -- when she could barely walk, let alone dance." Michael Jackson, wearing dark glasses and an all-red outfit, delivered brief taped comments, before Janet's other brothers -- Marlon, Jackie, Jermaine and Tito -- introduced the star of the evening, who turns 35 in May, by declaring, "She will always be our little sister."
