The stars of the new movie "The Brothers," opening March 23, gathered in New York over the weekend to discuss the flick, which is about four best friends who begin to question their attitudes about women and relationships when one of them announces his impending wedding. D.L. Hughley, 37, a veteran standup comic and the creator and star of the UPN sitcom "The Hughleys," plays Derrick, who considers his wife selfish because she won't do unto him in bed what he does unto her. Speaking to PEOPLE, Hughley explained the differences between the standup performance moviegoers saw in last year's "The Original Kings of Comedy" and his acting role in "Brothers." " 'Kings of Comedy' was one thing," he said. "but that's what people knew I could do. Nobody's shocked that I got on stage and made people laugh. That's the gig. That's my job. But I think that people are going to be shocked, good or bad, positively or negatively, by seeing me do something that they're not familiar with -- in other words, not just seeing me standing up with a microphone."
