Broadway showed how healthy it could be on Monday night, when bright lights of the theater world, including Lauren Bacall and the male cast of the hit musical "The Full Monty," gathered to benefit the health of women in their profession, reports PEOPLE. The night was called, appropriately enough, "There Is Nothing Like a Dame" and among the charities it helded was Actors Equity's Women's Health Initiative. For a few brief shining moments, legendary actress Uta Hagen reprised the role she first made famous on the Broadway stage in the '60s, that of Martha in Edward Albee's "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" Later, Lynn Redgrave recalled her start in theater acting with two real British dames (Dames, that is), Margaret Rutherford and Maggie Smith, under the direction of Laurence Olivier and playwright Noel Coward, of whom she said, "He could have been a Dame." Bacall delivered a monologue from Tennessee Williams's "Sweet Bird of Youth," which she had performed on the London stage in the '90s. "I picked a very difficult piece to do," the star told PEOPLE. "Still, it seemed to work, and I was very happy to be here. I shall be back again next year."
