Rap mogul Sean "Puffy" Combs, 31, was found not guilty, it was announced in New York State Supreme Court on March 16. "It's bittersweet," he said, according to the Associated Press."My heart goes out to everybody who was hurt by this. ... This has been a life-changing experience for me." The verdict brings to a close one of the biggest celebrity trials in recent New York history. The case stemmed from a December 1999 shooting incident at Club New York in Times Square at which a patron picked a fight with the rap mogul that resulted in Combs's protégé Jamaal "Shyne" Barrow's opening fire in the room. Three people were injured. Combs was charged with possession of a gun and with trying to bribe his driver to claim ownership of the weapon. Also charged in the case were Barrow and Combs's bodyguard Anthony "Wolf" Jones. Jones was also acquitted, but Barrow was convicted of two counts of assault, reckless endangerment and two weapons charges, according to AP. He will be sentenced April 16, and faces up to 25 years in prison.
