Tennis Stars to Take Stand

Lindsay Davenport and Venus and Serena Williams have been subpoenaed to testify at the trial in Miami of Dubravko Rajcevic, a Croatian-born engineer who stands accused of stalking tennis star Martina Hingis, 20, at a tournament last year, reports the Associated Press. Dubravko, 45, is charged with four misdemeanors, one count of stalking and three of trespassing. With jury selection set for Wednesday and likely to take five days, Hingis is expected to testify April 2, one day after the finale of this year's Ericsson Open. Rajcevic's lawyer, Frank A. Abrams, plans to argue that Rajcevic made no threats against Hingis. He told AP that Rajcevic sent her love letters and flowers and only wants a romantic relationship with her. The lawyer added that he'd subpoenaed Davenport and the Williams sisters but was not aware whether or not they had been served.
