Gellar Puts Bite on Prinze
Goodbye wolfbane, hello floral bouquet. There are wedding bells ahead for "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" star Sarah Michelle Gellar and her boyfriend of more than a year, actor Freddie Prinze Jr., confirms her publicist. TV's "Access Hollywood" reported that the engagement occurred on Friday and was announced over Easter weekend at a joint birthday party in L.A. for Gellar (who turned 24 on Saturday) and her agent, Eddy Yablans. This will be a first marriage for both. Both bride and groom to be were among PEOPLE's 50 Most Beautiful PEOPLE last year. Prinze, 25, is the son of Freddie Prinze Sr., the actor-comedian who starred on the NBC '70s sitcom "Chico and the Man." (The elder Prinze, despondent over his divorce, committed suicide in 1977, when his son was 10 months old.) Gellar has been acting since she was four. The two met while making the 1997 slasher flick "I Know What You Did Last Summer." Their latest film together is the upcoming "Scooby Doo."
