"The West Wing" creator Aaron Sorkin, 39, was charged on Monday with possessing hallucinogenic mushrooms, rock cocaine and marijuana, prosecutors said. The Emmy winner was arrested at Burbank Airport on April 15 on suspicion of carrying drugs and subsequently freed on $10,000 bail. Initial news reports mentioned the mushrooms but nothing else. L.A. County District Attorney spokeswoman Sandi Gibbons told Reuters that subsequent chemical tests on the contents of the bag uncovered pieces of cocaine base, raising the prospective charges from a misdemeanor to a felony. Sorkin has acknowledged seeking treatment in 1995 for cocaine addiction. He is due in court on Tuesday. After his arrest two weeks ago Sorkin released a statement saying he was "prepared to proceed as directed by my attorney and in the best interest of my family."
