Scott Weiland, 30, former lead singer for the alternative rock band Stone Temple Pilots, to a conditional discharge, by a judge who told him he must stay out of trouble for one year, successfully complete a drug rehabilitation program in Los Angeles and meet with a counselor four times a week. Weiland had pleaded guilty Tuesday to possession of heroin and admitted he purchased the drugs last July at a New York City housing project.
