A silent protest over presenting "On the Waterfront" and "A Streetcar Named Desire" director Elia Kazan, 89, an honorary Academy Award. Blacklisted writers (who suffered as a result of Kazan's testimony before the House Committee on Un-American Activities in 1952) have taken out trade ads, requesting that those in the Oscar audience on March 21 sit on their hands when Kazan comes to the stage.
