Bessie Cohen, a survivor of the historic 1911 Triangle Shirtwaist fire in New York (the tragedy led to the passage of some of America's first worker safety laws), Sunday, in Los Angeles. She was 107. The fire she survived as a 19-year-old Russian immigrant took the lives of 146 of her co-workers, mostly other young immigrant women.
