Cal Ripken Sr., 63, who spent 36 years in the Baltimore Orioles' baseball organization as a scout, coach and manager, and whose family included future Hall of Famer Cal Ripken Jr., and Bill Ripken, who also played with Baltimore, Thursday, of lung cancer. He remains the only person ever to have managed two sons on the same major league team, as he did in 1987 when Cal Jr. played shortstop for the Orioles and Billy played second base.
