Charles P. "Pete" Conrad, 69, one of NASA's pioneering astronauts and the third man to walk on the moon, Thursday, after a motorcycle accident near Ojai, Calif. As commander of the Apollo 12 mission in 1969, Conrad spent seven hours and 45 minutes on the lunar surface.
