Outstanding jazz vibraphonist Milt Jackson, who, as a 40-year veteran of the Modern Jazz Quartet, made the instrument sing like the human voice, Saturday, in New York, of liver cancer. He was 76 and had played with Dizzy Gillespie, Ray Charles and John Coltrane.
