That gay and lesbian couples are entitled to the same protections and benefits given to heterosexual married couples, by the Vermont Supreme Court, Monday. The ruling, which stopped just short of legalizing gay marriage (something that is being left for the Vermont legislature to decide), is being applauded by gay activists nationwide.
