A Canadian TV network pink-slipped Toronto news anchorwoman Avery Haines on Monday for offensive comments she made without realizing she was on the air. Apparently mocking mistakes she made reading a script, she said: "We've got a stuttering newscaster. We've got the black, we've got the Asian, we've got the woman. I could be a lesbian, folk-dancing, black woman stutterer." Haines apologized on the air twice before being shown the door.
