'Eating Raoul' Creator Dies
Paul Bartel, 60, filmmaker (1982's black comedy "Eating Raoul") and actor ("The Usual Suspects," "Tales of the City" and the current "Hamlet"), died in his sleep in his New York apartment on Saturday. He had been recently diagnosed as having liver cancer. Among his many distinctions, Bartel (as a film director) gave Sylvester Stallone one of his earliest legitimate screen roles, in 1975's "Death Race 2000."
