Reiner Wins Funny Award

Actor-writer-director-comedian Carl Reiner, 78, will receive this fall's Kennedy Center "Mark Twain" Award. The annual award, named for the author whose real name was Samuel Clemens, honors great humorists and has already gone to Richard Pryor and Jonathan Winters. When once asked by fans why all funny people seem to be Jewish, Reiner replied: "Clemens isn't a Jewish name -- is it?"
