Despite the fact that he doesn't write mysteries, actor Jerry Orbach picked up a lifetime achievement award Thursday from the Mystery Writers of America. He was cited for his role on TV's "Law & Order." Other winners were author Mary Higgins Clark (named a grand master) and movie director (and Madonna's companion) Guy Ritchie, for his screenplay for "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels."
