Miss Universe Controversy
Miss India Lara Dutta, 21, was crowned Miss Universe in Cyprus over the weekend. There was grumbling in her homeland about the choice, as Dutta is a Christian in the largely Hindu nation. She says she plans to promote AIDS awareness among women. Among the top five finalists was Miss USA, Lynette Cole, 22, of Columbia, Tenn.
