Joey and Mary Jo Buttafuoco have formally separated, a spokesperson for the couple announced on Tuesday. But the rep emphasized that the Buttafuocos are not seeking a divorce. The couple made headlines (and were the subject of no less than three made-for-TV movies) after Joey's 17-year-old lover, Amy Fisher, shot Mary Jo in the face in 1992. Mary Jo later formally forgave Amy, who served nearly seven years in prison for her act. Joey currently runs an auto parts shop in L.A., where he is also said to be pursuing an acting career.
