Armstrong Revs Up

11/20/1997 at 12:00 AM EST

Champion cyclist and cancer survivor Lance Armstrong, 28, winner of the 1999 Tour de France, is back on the bicycle seat. This Saturday he begins racing in the 2000 Tour de France, over a much more mountainous route than last year's. The path is said to favor top climbers, such as Italy's Marco Pantani -- who took top honors the year before Armstrong.
