Diana: Supreme Disappointment

11/19/1997 at 12:00 AM EST

Diana Ross and the (sort of) Supremes, doing only so-so business on the road to begin with, canceled two of their "Return to Love" concerts over the weekend due to poor ticket sales. The Washington Post reports that shows were called off Friday at New York's Jones Beach and Sunday in Washington, D.C. The group, which has reportedly been playing to half-empty halls since the tour began last month, has been charging as much as $275 per ticket.
