Romijn-Stamos Steps into Future
Model-actress Rebecca Romijn-Stamos, who played herself in last year's "Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me" and who can currently be seen as Mystique in "X-Men," will play the female lead in a remake of the 1975 sci-fi movie "Rollerball," reports Variety. The original, about a highly-rated blood sport on TV, starred James Caan and Maud Adams and took place in the far future. The update, which begins shooting in Montreal today, is said to be set in the very near future. Costarring with Romijn-Stamos, 27, will be Chris Klein ("American Pie") and LL Cool J.
