Rapper's Posthumous Lawsuit Settled

Separate lawsuits filed by the family of slain rap star Tupac Shakur (who was shot to death in 1996) and the family of another man (who was slain two years later) were settled for an undisclosed sum last month, a lawyer involved in the case told the Associated Press. At the time of Shakur's death, he was being sued for allegedly assaulting Orlando Anderson -- who was later sued by Shakur's family for allegedly being involved in the rapper's fatal Las Vegas shooting. The Anderson contingent contended that right before his death, Shakur had agreed to pay $78,000 to settle the assault charge, but that the money was never paid. The Andersons then filed a breach of contract suit.
