David Letterman has gotten half of his wish. Having repeatedly asked Al Gore and George W. Bush to debate on his program, Dave at least has heard from Gore. (Bush is said to be still considering the offer.) The Democratic Presidential candidate is now booked to appear on the "Late Show" on Sept. 14, CBS has announced. It will mark the politician's first appearance with Letterman since 1993, when Gore demonstrated how to smash ashtrays with a hammer -- though recently Letterman has been running the footage of Gore's planting a smacker on wife Tipper at the Democratic Convention.
