Two-time Tour de France champ Lance Armstrong, 28, suffered bruises and "was banged up pretty good," said a spokesman after Armstrong and another cyclist, Tyler Hamilton, were hit by a car in southern France on Tuesday. The collision reportedly destroyed Armstrong's bike and shattered his helmet. "He was not hurt seriously," Dan Osipow told the Associated Press about Armstrong, who is said to be recuperating at his home in Nice. The cyclist survived testicular cancer and won two consecutive Tour de France victories in 1999 and 2000. He is not due to leave for the Sydney Olympics until the middle of next month.
