Funnyman Bob Newhart, 71, might have set some kind of record, points out The Washington Post: In his five-decade-long career, he has never once uttered a curse word. "It depends on what your definition of 'curse word' is," Newhart, who starred in two CBS sitcoms and will deliver a lecture on Comedy at the Smithsonian next Wednesday, told the paper. "Maybe I would say an occasional 'goddamn,' but that's as blue as I get." Not that there's anything wrong with being blue, believes Bob. "One of the brightest comics ever was Richard Pryor," says Newhart, "and God knows he and I don't use the same language."
