The 1975 cult hit, "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," which bombed in its first release but later caught on thanks to midnight audience-participation showings, bows on DVD this weekend. The 25th-anniversary special edition of the flick, which stars a young Susan Sarandon and Barry Bostwick ("Spin City") as a couple that shows up at a very strange haunted house, includes some prompters that instruct viewers how to behave during the musical numbers. Meanwhile, the original "The Rocky Horror Show," which began life in 1973 as a small-scale London stage production, is getting the Broadway treatment. Just in time for Halloween, a revived "Show" starts previews on Oct. 20 with rocker Joan Jett, 40, as a groupie and veteran TV host Dick Cavett, 63, as the narrator.
