New O.J. Trial K.O.'d

10/20/1997 at 12:00 AM EDT

O.J. Simpson lost a new case in a Los Angeles court on Friday when his lawsuit against longtime friend Robert Kardashian and author-producer Lawrence Schiller was tossed out of court. Superior Court Judge Fumiko Wasserman ruled that Simpson lacked sufficient evidence to prove that Kardashian revealed confidential information about the former football player's murder trial to Schiller, who is producing "American Tragedy," a CBS mini-series due to air later this month. Kardashian, who has known Simpson since his gridiron days, stood by him in 1994, at the time he was accused of murdering his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ronald Goldman. Simpson's lawyers say they will appeal Friday's ruling.
