Queen Mum Takes a Fall
Britain's Queen Mother, 100, is recuperating at home after tripping on a carpet, falling and breaking her collarbone at her official London residence, Clarence House, on Friday, her office confirmed yesterday. "Her Majesty is reasonably comfortable and has canceled her engagements for the time being," said a spokeswoman for Queen Elizabeth II's highly resilient mum, who is said to be sitting up, with her arm in a sling. Her indomitable spirit apparently has not been dimmed, either, with her private secretary, Sir Alastair Aird, telling reporters that the monarch is "in remarkably good form" and "very chirpy."
