Lucas Film Center Stonewalled
George Lucas is encountering static from the National Park Service for the sprawling $250 million film center he is proposing for San Francisco's former Presido military post, reports the Associated Press. Lucasfilm's Digital Arts Center -- complete with an artifical stream and two water walls -- may not conform to federal preservation laws, said the Park Service's John Reynolds, but a rep who represents the Presido said the plan will not be entirely killed off Star Wars-style, though it will probably be modified. There has been no comment on the recent development from Lucas, who reportedly wrapped "Star Wars: Episode II" in England on Sept. 20, ahead of schedule.
