Oscar winner Jack Lemmon, 75, has been hospitalized in Los Angeles with diverticulitis, reports Variety, which says that the star hopes to be released today. On Sunday, says the trade paper, Lemmon accepted a Hollywood Women's Press Club Buddy Rogers Legend Award, presented by Angela Lansbury, via telephone from his sickbed. Lemmon's most recent film role is uncredited: supplying the voice of Old Hardy Greaves in "The Legend of Bagger Vance." This past July, Lemmon's longtime pal and frequent costar ("The Odd Couple," "Grumpy Old Men"), Walter Matthau, died of a heart attack at the age of 79.
