Oscar nomination ballots hit the U.S. Postal System yesterday, with Beverly Hills Postmaster Koulla Fuller personally monitoring the transfer of the envelopes from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences offices on Wilshire Blvd., 90210, to the nearby post office to make sure they were not misplaced, say reports. This extra security measure was in light of last year's mishap in which nearly 4,000 Oscar ballots vanished when they were mistakenly sent to the wrong post office in Southern California. The ballots went out to the academy's 4,253 California members. The international and out-of-state members had their ballots postmarked Jan. 5. The nominees will be announced on Feb. 13, and the winners will be honored at a March 25 ceremony.
