There are currently 85,000 working Elvis Presley impersonators in the world today, according to the Times of London. That's presumably around the entire world, not just in the United Kingdom. Even so, the figure is startling, especially given that at the time of the King's death, in 1977, there were only 150 working Elvis impersonators, claims the Times. At this rate of growth, the paper somberly speculates, by the year 2019, roughly one-third of the world's population will be impersonating Elvis.
