Noel Gallagher's Divorce

Oasis songwriter Noel Gallagher and his wife of three years, Meg Mathews, were granted a divorce on grounds of "irreconcilable breakdown arising from admitted adultery" Friday in London's Divorce Court, reports the Associated Press. Neither party was in court. In her legal papers, Mathews claimed Gallagher admitted last fall that he had strayed. On Thursday, Gallagher denied any infidelity, saying that he wanted out of the marriage because he could no longer tolerate his wife's raucous rock 'n' roll lifestyle. "Throughout our time together I never cheated on Meg. I have agreed to go along with Meg's request for a quick divorce for the sake of our family and in order to get the whole thing over with," he said in a statement. The Gallaghers have a daughter, Anais, 1.
