Rapper's Appeal Overturned
A judge has rejected an appeal by rap star DMX to overturn his 15-day jail sentence on a traffic charge, according to the Associated Press. DMX (real name: Earl Simmons) was pulled over by police after a tour stop in Buffalo in March and was charged with speeding, failing to signal a lane change, driving with a suspended permit and marijuana possession. He pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of driving without a license. He was ordered to serve a maximum 15-day jail term and fined $400. The rapper is expected to surrender within the next two weeks to serve time in the Erie County Correctional Facility in Alden, N.Y.
