Special Oscar on the Block
One-time child actress Margaret O'Brien, now 64, has given her special 1945 Oscar (awarded for her role as Judy Garland's little sister in 1944's "Meet Me in St. Louis") to the Sacramento (Calif.) AIDS Foundation, which will auction it off, the group announced. The sale, which will take place on the Web site of Fine Arts Brokerage, will run from March 9 to 25, and O'Brien's Oscar has some history: The statuette was stolen in 1954 and remained missing until 1985, when two sports memorabilia collectors reportedly stumbled across it at a Pasadena swap meet and returned it to the actress.
