'Brockovich': Legal Aid
Considered a shoo-in for the Oscar gold, J Julia Roberts is seeing the studio that backed her "Erin Brockovich" spread around some of its own gold. The Associated Press reports that Universal Pictures has donated $100,000 for college aid in honor of the real-life environmental activist Brockovich (played by Roberts) and her boss, attorney Ed Masry (played by Screen Actors Guild Award winner Albert Finney). The graduate fellowships and undergraduate scholarships at the University of California, Los Angeles, will be offered to students studying environmental and social justice. The money will be available starting in the fall semester.
