Village People leatherman Glenn Hughes, 50, a member of the disco band from its 1976 inception until 1995 (when he stopped performing with the group), died March 4 after a long illness, according to Rolling Stone.com. Hughes, who was a bridge toll collector before donning his chains and skins and striking it big with the band (whose campy hits included "Y.M.C.A" and "Macho Man"), requested that he be buried in full leather regalia, says the Web site.
