Princess Margaret's Health

09/08/1997 at 12:00 AM EDT

Princess Margaret, 70, younger sister to England's Queen Elizabeth II, has suffered another minor stroke, a spokesperson for Buckingham Palace told the BBC on Thursday. "Princess Margaret suffered a further minor stroke early on Tuesday afternoon. It will be some while before the extent of her recovery can be determined," said the Palace, which added that the monarch is being treated at her Kensington Palace home. "The Queen is being kept closely informed and the Princess's family have visited her." In January, the Queen's only sibling was hospitalized for 10 days after experiencing a severe loss of appetite. At the time, the Palace said that it appeared she might have had a slight stroke. In 1998, the Princess did suffer a stroke and has apparently had a series of health problems ever since.
