Whoopi Goldberg, 51, has been named as the fourth recipient of the Mark Twain Prize for humor, the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts announced on Tuesday. In response, she said, "Our dear Mr. Twain put it best when he said, 'Humor is the good-natured side of a truth.' " The honor will be bestowed at an Oct. 15 gala in the Kennedy Center Concert Hall in Washington. Previous Twain winners were Richard Pryor, Jonathan Winters and Carl Reiner.
