Comedian Whoopi Goldberg and actor Adam Sandler recently canceled appearances on "Good Morning America," New York's Daily News reports, and singer Tony Bennett reportedly stayed away from "The View." They're upset over a dispute between the network and 2,400 members of the National Association of Broadcast Employees and Technicians union. After the union staged a wildcat 24-hour strike Nov. 2 to protest 18 months without a contract, ABC locked them out. Goldberg's spokesman told the News, "Whoopi is a supporter of unions and has no intentions of crossing a picket line." Scores of Democratic politicians around the country have also canceled ABC appearances, the News said.
