Convicted Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh and his lawyers are expected to reach a decision by Friday on whether or not to file a request to block his execution, his attorneys are saying. McVeigh, 33, is currently scheduled to die by lethal injection on June 11 at a federal prison in Terre Haute, Ind., for the 1995 bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building. The blast, which left 168 people dead, is considered the single worst act of terrorism ever perpetrated on American soil. McVeigh's request for a stay of execution would be based on about 4,000 documents that the FBI turned over to his attorneys earlier this month, just days before McVeigh's original May 16 execution date. In a statement on Tuesday, McVeigh's lawyer, Rob Nigh, told CNN: "Mr. McVeigh believes that the information that we have discovered is worthy of judicial review." ABC, CBS and NBC also reported that the legal team was preparing a request for a stay.
