Prince William has shown his first public interest in the kind of charity work that was so closely associated with his mother, reports PEOPLE. The young heartthrob, 19, told a member of the Bristol Cancer Help Centre that he admired the organization's work and would like to see volunteers from the group in action. William made his comments to Vicki Carver, a fundraiser for the center, for which his father, Prince Charles, serves as a patron. In response to his desire, the center has now sent an invitation to William to come see its work. "We don't want to speculate on whether he will be attending," a spokeswoman for the charity told PEOPLE. "We have sent him a letter, and we will wait and see." William made the remark to Carver earlier this month, after playing in a charity polo match in Gloucestershire alongside his father and brother, Prince Harry, 16. There, William acknowledged to spectators that polo could be both "exciting" and "dangerous," and he added, "I love the game. In the kind of life I lead, I find it's a great release."
