The dove of peace has once again settled upon TV's White House. The four main supporting players on NBC's "The West Wing" -- Allison Janney, Richard Schiff, Bradley Whitford and John Spencer -- have settled their salary dispute with Warner Bros. TV after the studio agreed to more than double their paychecks, reports Variety. (Originally, it was reported the actors wanted their salaries tripled.) In exchange for the pay raise, the quartet has agreed to stay with the show for an extra year, committing them to the political series through its seventh season. (Come September, the White House drama will begin its third season.) The four will now be earning in excess of $70,000 each per episode this season, up from the approximately $30,000 on average that they had been earning. (By contrast, the six co-stars of "Friends" make about $750,000 per episode.) On top of which, they will receive modest raises of about 5% in subsequent seasons. (Each season contains about 22 episodes.) Neither Warner Bros. TV -- which, like PEOPLE, is part of AOL Time Warner -- nor the actors' attorney, Peter Nelson, would comment on news of a settlement.
